15 Months
15 Months have passed since the day we met you.
You are 32 lbs. and I am not quite sure how tall you are but we will find out next week at your doctor’s appointment.
You have 12 teeth still but your incisors have broken through so that makes almost 16! I am going to miss that gummy smile of yours.
Your hair is pretty incredible. You have the cutest blonde curls and you love to walk around with my hair brush after I comb through them. We still haven’t trimmed any yet and it has started to fall in your eyes. You will pull your hair down in the front and roll your eyes back in your head as you try to see what is tickling your face! Adorable.
You are wearing a size 6 shoe. I don’t know what else to say about this other than your chubby baby feet have somehow sprouted into miniature man feet. Stop it.
Your gut is impressive. It makes you slightly resemble humpty dumpty and your dad and I find it amazing that you don’t topple forward sometimes!
You are walking like a drunken champ! The other day you were pushing your little walker like a shopping cart all through the house. You went full speed ahead right under the entry way table and almost knocked yourself out when your head hit the side of it. You learned the hard way that you are too tall to walk under it now!
You are constantly talking! We don’t always know what you’re saying, but we love to hear it as it sounds VERY important! We can only make out key words that are repeated often; mama (your favorite) dada (which you also associate with your golf clubs…I suppose that’s appropriate) shoe, the occasional “Dyce”, and your new favorite….uh oh (which you say every time you drop something)! You also said papaw at one point last weekend but your dad and I were not there to witness it.
Your favorite foods are veggie burgers with ketchup, goldfish, yogurt, bananas, any fruit…seriously, ANY fruit, cinnamon bread, avocado and ice cream! You have also started to delight yourself in feeding Rya from your plate. We now have to leave her outside while you eat and then let her in when you finish. Otherwise your entire plate would go to her!
You enjoy daycare and still get beyond excited when I come to pick you up! You let nothing stand in your way when you catch a glimpse of me in the afternoons….no teacher, child, or any other playground object can stop you! Every Friday we send you to school in something fun. Sometimes it’s a gold chain and other times it’s a funny hat or superman cape! All the other kids and teachers seem to enjoy it and we hope it will encourage you to be different (if you so choose).
You are a sweet boy. You love to laugh….dear God, you LOVE to laugh! You are silly and funny with no effort at all. I pray this is a trait you have inherited from your dad….it’s one of my favorite things about him!
My favorite part of the day is around 8 p.m. You get so snuggly and loving when you get tired. Your dad and I sandwich you with kisses and we sing to you as one of us rocks you to sleep. I whisper your prayers in your ear before I lay you down in your crib and watch as you snuggle in with that little butt of yours pointed in the air. The days are long for you, sweet boy, and you rest so well until the next morning when you wake and we get to love you all over again.

Happy 15 months Dyce Danger.
Love,
mama and dada
