Keepin' It Real
If you want things sugar coated, I am not your girl. I have never been one to be easily embarrassed or hold back when it comes to telling you how it is….and this post is no exception. So, if you don’t want to know some slightly personal things about me then I encourage you to go ahead and move on. Perhaps my next post will be better suited for you. If you are an expecting mom or you...

Flashback Friday....Sweet and Salty
I hope everyone had a great week! In honor of my plans this weekend (Glow Party Saturday night at The Breakfast Club!), I thought I would share with you a slightly salty photo… We had an 80’s themed party for Claire and Brandon’s birthdays. I was about 8 months pregnant and yes, we went to the Breakfast Club like this. One guy commented on how funny our outfits were and how...

42.
i received an email from babycenter that was titled, 42 things that change with a baby. i decided to skim this list and would like to share with you a few that jumped out at me… Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.  You respect your body … finally. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.  You find that your baby’s pain feels...

A Weekend of Firsts
This weekend I took Dyce to his first s.o.stereo. concert at the NC Music Factory for the Live Out Loud! concert. Live Out Loud! was a benefit concert with a majority of the proceeds going to The Free Store and Samaritan’s Feet. It was a little chilly, so we got to break out the boots and Dyce’s new pea coat and skinny jeans! (Sorry in advance…this post is a little image heavy!) ...

There are over 50 bands playing and if you can catch s.o.stereo. at 5:30pm I promise you a little eye candy in the form of one studly lead singer, Bradley C. Davis. Get your tickets here! I came across this video the other day….this is what happens when my husband is given the video camera and left alone with a 2 day old Dyce!

An Angel With A Heartbeat...
Late last week I told you about a dear friend of mine who had suffered a miscarriage in THIS post. She had been told by her doctor that they were “100% certain” that she had suffered a miscarriage and they asked her to come in for an ultrasound yesterday to determine what steps to take next.  We have prayed, and prayed, and prayed that God’s will be carried out and that my...

Preparing for Baby Girl Lockett
Some dear friends of ours, Clay and Christine Lockett (or as we refer to them, “The Clocketts”), are expecting their first baby….a little girl due the beginning of October! I hosted a shower for Christine this past Saturday at Pewter Rose in Charlotte. This was not a traditional baby shower, in that guests were asked to bring a photo of themselves with Christine in lieu of...

An Angel Gets Its Wings
“An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby’s birth.  Then whispered as she closed the book “too beautiful for earth”.  ~author unknown My heart is heavy today. A dear friend of mine suffered a miscarriage. I want to wrap my arms around her and tell her this was in God’s will, but I know she already knows.  Dear sweet baby,  You were already so loved, and...

Why Now?
I guess I am a little late in the game. Usually these blogs are created to track and share in the journey from pregnancy to birth, and beyond. To be honest it took me a long time to decide if I even wanted, or had the time, to blog. More than that, I was not sure that I wanted to put myself and my family on such public display. The more I contemplated, the more attractive this all became....
